second law
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NIV)
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Today this verse found its way to me and it really spoke to my heart. It is so specific about your children. We always say, jokingly, that there is no guidebook for children. I believe that the Bible really is. The last few months I have been more mindful of my children and their ever blossoming (beautiful, unique,) personalities. Anthony, my ever cautious, sensitive, compassionate boy. Irene, my tough, fun loving, daredevil little girl. So different from each other, so alike at the same time, each child as unique as a fingerprint but yet occupying the same hand. How do I raise these children? How do I not make a mistake? What happens when one method works on one child and not on another and you are fresh out of ideas? Yet, God doesn't make mistakes. He gave these little wonders to us. It stands to reason, that if we trust him, we can't possibly go wrong.
