seven days instead of three

I am curious to try a little experiment. What would happen if procrastinator girl----that's me---tried to live for seven days, doing everything correctly. That is, to say, fulfilling every goal I have set for myself, each and every day. Would I crack the first day? Would I make it past three days? What I would hope, is that I could make it for the entire seven and see some good results, weight loss wise, and maybe even have a few of the things stick. I can't possibly get any worse, right? So to give you an idea of some of the goals that I am talking about, I will make a little list.

  1. go to bed early (this is such a hard one for me)
  2. get up early (even worse)
  3. study my bible (I love what I learn and how I feel with this one)
  4. take vitamins daily (this makes me nauseated)
  5. exercise for at least 30 min. a day (no comment)
  6. drink all my water (94 freaking ounces)
  7. eat between 1200-1400 calories daily
  8. do one organizing project daily
  9. clean and pick up house regularly (yep---I am a housewife that doesn't clean well)
  10. cook dinner every night (I am also a housewife that doesn't cook)
  11. get rid of 15 things daily (a pack rat who loves simplicity--I am a study of opposites)
I actually had more things to add to that list, but I have been improving a lot lately. So I already floss every night and am totally caught up on my laundry. So I am not sure that I can do this. But even if I mess up a little---or a lot--- I won't chuck the whole idea. I will jump right back into it and keep going. I am going to update, everyday, on my progress. For example:
Day one: this sucks, Day two: this sucks double, Day three: suck fest 2007.
But it should be interesting...

  1. Wow, this is a really really good idea and list. I hope it works, post results - you may be onto something!!

  2. Not to disagree with you, but let me just say a few words about your housekeeping...just get me a knife and fork...yep, you guessed it, I would partake right there on the kitchen floor. You are too hard on yourself, your house always looks beautiful. Or maybe I need glasses, but I think you do a wonderful job! Do you disagree? Should I move up from the floor to the kitchen counter? I don't think so. By the way, great idea.

  3. My first thought when I read this was that you needed more concrete goals on the first ones...get up early? How early? What time? What time do you want to go to bed? Do you want me to call you at 10pm and say "goodnighty!" ?
Even #3, how about shoot for 20 minutes a day or even 15?
    Just a thought...or two.

  4. I've often thought of writing a list of things that need to get done and stick to it each day... but I haven't quite gotten to the actual making of the list part. So you're already way ahead of me!!

  5. I hope your results are better than a three day suck-fest :)

  6. Dude, if you even make it three days I'll be giving you "mad props" in the words of my ghetto friend.

I could not live an orderly life one day no matter how hard I tried. I do make to-do lists, but they're more like to-to suggestions.

  7. Seems like it should be doable, right? But it will be damn hard. Even a day is hard for me. But you start with one, maybe you make a second and then a third, and who knows? What a great challenge.

  8. Works for mom:
definitely going to post results. Stick around ;)

Shanna: thanks...I wish I could be as organized as you, though!

Cheffi: Don't you think that I clean before you get here? And by the way...yes you need glasses... but not the ones you buy from the supermarket...go to the doctor and get a prescription. I'm begging you.

Jodi:Do you really say goodnighty? That made me laugh.

Jane: I mkae lists...i just never stick to how far ahead is that really ;)

Mamacita: to-do suggestions...I am so gonna steal that!

John: I always fail on the first day so I am nervous about how difficult it will be. Even if life doesn't throw any obstacles at us we still throw them at ourselves right?

  9. Bradley: Me too! We shall see....

  10. I have to just say--I love you. Why? Because we share the same list. I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with those things. And I'm guessing that you're being too hard on yourself about some thing (mostly because I want to believe I'm too hard on myself... :) )
